I'm not sure if you urbanites are paying much attention to this, but real estate, and reality TV mogul has started a "gab campaign," for president in 2012. Rumors started months ago, but seem to be gaining more ammunition as the popularity of his TV sitcom, Celebrity Apprentice, rises.
I can think on recent memory of Minnesota electing Jesse "The Body" Ventura as governor, and The Terminator leading the state of California, but I don't think I want the guy with the squirrel toupee as my prez.
